This is one of my favorite illustrations by one of my favorite illustrators, Fritz Eichenberg. If your not familiar with his work you should have a look. This is the cover image from his edition of Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte. This picture is a great example of using composition to tell the story. It not only illustrates the narrative but also captures the mood and emotions of the scene. Few have done it better.

Hey everyone!

Hope you are keeping yourself warm in this cold weather.

I have some cool news: listed "Grumpy Goat" as one of the four books you should read to your kids this January. But even if you don't have kids you should still read it, or at least check out the article.

P.S. here's a sketch  from the book

Stay warm and have a great weekend!

I just stumbled across a beautiful book collecting the paintings of Edgar Payne. I know nothing about him, but I love the paintings. Great compositions and great brushwork. I'm inspired. Check it out, the book is called Edgar Payne, The Scenic Journey.
